We are finally at the end of June and the Coho run seems to be in full gear.
The New Moon this week, brought a 14+ foot tide change and with it plenty of bait. The Coho have been primarily offshore while the big Chinook seem to be staying in tight, close to the kelp and rock structure.
Most of the salmon action has been on the west side of the grounds, and the salmon do not seem to be too particular about what they are biting on. Anglers are finding success on a wide variety of gear/bait which is being used by everyone. For Coho, in-line anchovies and Skinny G spoons have been the tackle combinations that seem to be on fire. When going for Chinook, dummy flashers combined with herring, anchovies or smaller spoons have been the go-to for most of our guests and guides.
Tight Lines!
