Fishing has remained steady at the Lodge, with several hot spots continuing to deliver great results for our guests. Shag Rock has been especially active, with increasing numbers of Coho and smaller Chinook salmon keeping rods bent and spirits high. Bird Rock 2, Parker Point, and the always reliable Cape Naden are among the top producers, offering consistent inshore Chinook action for those working the shoreline.
Cape Edenshaw is also showing signs of heating up, after a solid Northwest wind midweek began to push fish into the area. That wind shift paid off in a big way over the weekend, with a stunning 50-pound Chinook landed on the west side of the grounds, along with the release of a beautiful 30-pounder. Needless to say, the Lodge was buzzing!
The Northwest blow seems to have stirred things up just right, and all signs continue to point to great fishing in the days ahead. On top of that, the wildlife has been putting on a show – Large pods of orcas cruising by, humpback whales feeding actively around Eagle Rock and across the topside.
It’s shaping up to be another unforgettable week at QCL with great fishing, epic wildlife, and memories to last a lifetime. Good luck out there, and tight lines!
